You're a pizza of...

So, some follow up on saurkraut.

There it is. On a Nathan's with some spicy brown. The poor man's filet mignon. Too bad there's snow on the ground as I write this.

Lets...go...mets........

The saurkraut was/is so good. I still have some left in the mason jar. When I finish it, I'm making more. So easy, so tasty, so healthy.

I'm an obsessive creep, so I made more carmelized onions. To put on pizza:

Boboli crust(that's right, I'm lazy, sue me)
Goat cheese, onions, tomatoes, basil, balsamic reduction. So gd good, so so so easy.

Extra tasty while watching the wwf hall of fame ceremony....yep

Sweet sweet sliders

For the Super Bowl I made mini cheese burgers, also known as..."sliders"...

I didn't get any pics cause they were gone so fast. (I'm looking at you, Antonio)

I needed to make them again, they were so goddam good. The secret is carmelized onions. I add bacon and special sauce...but the onions make it.

I took 3 big yellow onions and sautéed them:

Then I sautéed them some more

And then I sautéed them some more

And next time I'm gonna do a whole 2 pound bag of onions because I want to put this on everything.

Then I prepped the bull...I mean buns.

Burger time

Oh boy.

In unrelated news, I watched Birdman. What an awful movie.

Choco-Bliss

No, not my favorite sweet treat from Cumberland Farms in the 80's.

Chocolate linguine.

I have this healthy cacao powder that I put in smoothies and chili.

Far superior to...cocoa powder.

I figured I'd mix it in with pasta flour and see how it turned out. It's not crazy, they make this stuff in Italy.

Flour, powder, and egg.

A ball of shit...I mean chocolate pasta dough.

A blurry picture due to nervous exhilaration of dreadlocks of a bum I killed and scalped...I mean a blurry picture of chocolate pasta after rolling an cutting.

Chocolate Alfredo. This was really good. The chocolate is slightly bitter, which I like, and it went really well with the sauce, which was butter, garlic, half and half, and Parmesan cheese. Also delicious with red wine.

Here it is mixed:

Tremendage.

I'm other news, I went to the doctor and saw a cool x-ray of my well healed leg.

Just imagine. When I die I'm gonna be dust and bone and titanium. Then just dust and titanium.

But I'm alive now and have so much hair I have to do this to shave:

Teaser pic for next time:

Ciao!

Pastamania runs wild

It's a time of year that can only be described as hell on earth. No reason to leave the house.

Why go on? To read, to eat. All the fields of wheat. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FyZkp7EX7LU

In this dark time, I powered through an made fresh pasta with a pasta machine my friend James got me. I don't have much to say. I documented the entire process with photos.

Let's take a look!

The machine.

The flour and egg on my counter.

The transformation.

Some dough.

All the dough, pressed and cut. That is a handy dandy pasta drying rack. In this case I have "ah" strand of pasta, actually, enough to necessitate an entire rack.

I think Kerplunk would work just as well.

The sauce? Garlic and butter and tomato and parsley.

The pasta:

The finished dish:

I'm going to make this more often.

Dammit I haven't posted in a while. Dammit.

It's almost February, and I'm just putting Christmas stuff up. Oh well. It's winter. It's tough even getting out of bed when the sun offers no comfort. It shines brighter and makes the wind bite more. What a dick.

Thank god spring training starts soon. I don't know if there's more miserable months in the year than January and February.

Anyways, Christmas was great.

Clams, oysters, and turkey.

That's a sandwich I made before I got very sick.

Maybe I'm born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline.

In other news, there was a blizzard. Woopedeee doooooo! It's a shame I'm not a kid anymore so I'd be excited as opposed to annoyed. But I get my groceries delivered, so I avoided all the assholes buying shit they don't need. That means I made black beans, with beef and salsa and corn and red pepper. And lettuce and cheese which is missing from this picture. I made a lot, so I'll have more next time.

Until next time. How good is black mirror, eh?

Get into the groove

I've been lazy, not taking hit pics. I've been making good stuff. But I've been eating it too fast to take pics. I made short rib chili that was awesome. Among other things.

Lets recap thanksgiving...sort of:

I went to my aunts in oakdale. I made Caesar salad and an apple pie. They were great. My uncle brought empanadas from queens. I took a half ass picture, which is a shame, because these were so good I didn't need thanksgiving dinner.

My folks were in PA, takin it easy at ludwigs tavern. Yes, a restaurant on thanksgiving, something that was nutso to me at first, but everyone's busy, with tight schedules. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon...anyways, One visit a couple years ago, I was sold.
My folks rubbing it in I wasn't there, lol:

My sister has good taste:

I had too much gran marnier after my turkey...no pics...

In new apartment news, it's winter, and I miss baseball. And I'm a carefree bachelor. Which means I can take pics like this:

That's peanuts while my franks and beans were cooking...washed down with the king of beers. Thanks god I have the 86 mets postseason DVD set to scratch my itch.

Wanna see my fridge? Ok....

I've gotta go, I'm just about to close up the library!!!! Until next time...
